Animated Lighting powered the annual "City Lights Downtown Shines for the Holidays"
in downtown Kansas City. Here are a few statistics about the show:
- 96 trees and bushes total are covered with lights across seven properties in downtown Kansas City.
-
32 of those trees are in Barney Allis Plaza. Each one is decorated with
over 500 lights that are synchronized to holiday songs.

- There are approximately 250,000 bulbs in use across the displays including about 220,000 traditional holiday bulbs (C9, C7, and minilights) and 30,000 LED bulbs.
- Wireless technology is used to synchronize the
displays between the Marriott and the Barney Allis Plaza.
- The Christmas tree in Barney Allis Plaza is 24-feet tall. It supports approximately 900 C7 bulbs total in red, green, blue, and clear colors. It operates on approximately 130 amps.
In 2005 this tree was retro-fitted with LED C6 light strings, dropping the power
consumption to approximately 20A.
- In 2005 twenty LED star and snowflake fixtures
were installed in Barney Allis plaza.
