Each candy cane is illuminated with 280 red and white LEDs divided into two circuits to power each color of the cane.  What makes LED based Christmas lights  better?  If you have not visited the LED light string section on our web site, you will learn that there are significant advantages of these lights vs. standard incandescent bulbs (up to 100,000 hour life, 1/10 the power of incandescent bulbs, pure colors that don't fade, virtually vandal-proof, one year warranty, if one bulb fails the rest of the bulbs continue to light, etc).  Fully powered, each candy cane draws just 12 watts and the full six cane package consumes less power than a 75 watt light bulb which means in most parts of the country it cost less than one cent an hour to operate your Animated Candy Cane display.
